On October 22, 2019 in the National Institute for Strategic Studies the Round Table meeting was held, dedicated to the topic “Legislative provision of reforming of the Security Service of Ukraine”.
The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Ivan Bakanov presented a concept of the new edition of the Law of Ukraine “On Security Service of Ukraine”.
In the round table discussion the following speakers participated: Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, Deputy Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Anna Kovalenko, First Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Horbulin, Yevhen Marchuk, people’s deputies, representatives of state authorities, veterans of the Security Service of Ukraine, experts and scholars.
All in all, participants of the Round Table expressed support for the new edition of the Law of Ukraine “On Security Service of Ukraine”. During the discussion they expressed a number of constructive proposals that will be taken into account in the finalization of the draft law.
