Assessments of Options for Ending the War in Ukrainian Public Opinion

The analytical note tracks changes in public perceptions regarding the readiness to continue defensive warfare against Russia, as well as the possibility of territorial concessions for establishing peace. The results of domestic and foreign public opinion surveys are compared.

Conclusions
The issue of how to end the war becomes more acute as the Russian army advances into Ukrainian territory. This is accompanied by shifts in public sentiment recorded by sociological surveys conducted in Ukraine by both domestic and foreign companies. It should be immediately noted that the results of some of these sociological surveys differ significantly. For instance, a study by the American Gallup Institute suggests that the majority of Ukrainians are allegedly willing to make concessions to the aggressor. However, there are reasons to consider such results overly categorical, as they are not confirmed by other sociological surveys. Meanwhile, the broader dissemination of such foreign survey results to Western audiences, compared to their Ukrainian counterparts, limits Ukraine's ability to convey its own perspective to the world, thereby distorting the understanding of the liberation war and the strategy of Ukraine's leadership.
